Around the age of thirteen, certain gifted students receive a mysterious letter in the mail one day, inviting them to- Woah, hold it there.   This is an academy, sure, but it's not that kind of academy.   There are no wizards or cheerleaders and it isn't a boarding school for the elite where guys sneak into the girls' dorms and teachers shoot laser beams from their eyes.   What we do have are lightsabers, baby!   Because this is the Jedi Academy, and it's not just an academy, either.   There's more to Star Wars than the Jedi, after all.   We've got the whole shebang - outside the temple there's a whole wide universe to explore, with cantinas, smugglers and Sith, oh my!   Kiddies aren't allowed to slack off and go skive their lessons at this particular school, and that cute Twi'Lek girl you've had your eye on?   Try and feel her up and you're likely to get a scolding from the Jedi Council, maybe even booted out of the Order if you're too much of a loose cannon or you're too unorthodox for their liking.   Nope, you've got to train, and get yourself some good ol' fashioned Jedi skills and wisdom, not to mention go on missions to different planets to investigate certain disturbances caused by the universe's more scummy and villainous inhabitants.   Nah, this definitely isn't the glamorous kind of school role play we know and loathe.

Oh my, this is all sounding a little more on crack than I'd hoped.

Star's end, wtf is this?! I hear you cry!   Basically, Jedi Academy will be a Star Wars role play centred around the Jedi Academy.   Duh.   If you hadn't gathered that much, I'd have been very ashamed of you!   The majority of characters will be Jedi, and it will be set in an alternate universe around the sort of time the Rise of the Empire began   so, imagine a few years before the Phantom Menace, only without all those characters and with your characters instead.   Damn straight, you can have your own Jedi Council member and shizz.   There will be a Master and Padawan system for those who want to partner up, and there's also going to be missions and places beyond the Temple and Coruscant to role play in.   Force powers will be earned via points and what not, but the Force might just decide to bestow 'em on anyone if they deserve it, and besides, points can be given with special permission so that a character's strength doesn't need to be decided simply by how new the rper is to the site.   Snazzy, huh?   Oh, and there's not only Jedi.   You can be a senator, smuggler, bounty hunter, Grey Jedi, Dark Jedi, bar tender, dancer, you name it!   There'll be work for you seedy sorts too, and NPCs to keep the action flowin'.   A nice refreshing change to most Star Wars role plays and school role plays alike.

Oh, and start thinking up characters, folks!   I love hearing about characters. xD   Wookiepedia is a magical place.   Any species and professions are welcome as long as they fit with the kind of time frame and setting mentioned above.   I'll slap characters next to names for funsies if you decide on one.    

Grand Master, Councilors, Masters and civillian ranks of great influence (e.g. Crime Lord or Chancellor) will require role play samples and characters that fit the role, so don't go bagging one of those ranks as they're special and will be decided later. ;3   Sith will not be allowed but Dark or Grey Jedi are welcome.   The public area of the site is coming soon, so you won't have to wait long to see wtf I'm going on about.
